The conference to be held from 27 to 29 April in Ulaanbaatar is hosted by Mongolia's president Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj.
The participants will include foreign ministers, representatives of international organisations and parliamentarians.
Mrkic will meet with Foreign Minister of Mongolia Luvsanvandan Bold, Prime Minister of Mongolia Norovyn Altankhuyag, and the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar.
The topics plenary sessions will be democracy, transition, civil society and the fight against corruption.
At the closing session of the conference on 29 April, the Ministerial Declaration will be adopted. Mongolia will then officially hand over the presidency of the community to Salvador.
The participants, among others, include US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Sweden - Karl Bildt, Slovakia - Miroslav Lajcak, Poland - Radoslaw Sikorski, Norway - Espen Barth Eide, Lithuania - Linas Linkevicijus, Kyrgyzstan - Erlan Abdyldaev, Thailand - Surapong Tovichakchaikul, Tunisia - Othman Jerandi and Indonesia - Marty Natalegawa.
The Community of Democracies is an international coalition of democratic countries that aims to promote and strengthen democratic standards and institutions around the world.
It was established at a conference in Warsaw in 2000. It brings together more than 100 countries.
