Bozovic and Andreescu estimated that the police cooperation between the two countries is at a high level and will be further improved in the future, especially in the fight against cross-border crime, internal control of the police, and the fight against corruption, human trafficking and illegal migration.
Pointing out that the fight against corruption and organised crime are one of the priorities of the Serbian government, Bozovic underlined that crime can be suppressed only with a strong cooperation of the police in the neighbouring countries.
Bozovic and Andreescu agreed to upgrade cooperation of border police between the two countries through intensive exchange of operational data and experiences.
They announced the signing of a protocol on the establishment of a joint contact centre of Romania and Serbia at the border crossing Djerdap 1.
Bozovic thanked his Romanian counterpart for the principled stance of Romania not to recognise the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo.
Andreescu told Bozovic that Romania will not change its position on that matter, and that it supports Serbia's European path, reads a statement by the Serbian Ministry of the Interior.
