Addressing the participants of the International Conference on Regulatory Reform titled "Accountability, transparency and collaboration – key elements of good governance," Selakovic said the legal system that helps economic development must be based on good regulatory practice, i.e., it has to be transparent, to guarantee legal safety and to be efficient.
He said that the aim of the government is to root out corruption and to prevent that the interests of individuals are presented as public interests, and noted that one of the priorities is the regulatory reform.
Selakovic announced drawing up a new framework for policy in this area and noted that the Office of Regulatory Reform has already drafted a new regulatory reform strategy, while drafting a resolution of the National Assembly to improve the legislative process is underway.
These two documents should set goals of reform in this field and the actions needed to achieve them, which does not mean that reform is coming to an end, the Minister said, adding it is a continuous process and that it is necessary to continue the pursuit of ever better regulations, a release from the Ministry of Justice and public Administration reads.
