The Serbian Ministry of Energy and Mining has said that Minister Radomir Naumov and his associates met today with representatives of multinational oil companies Shell and Kellogg on possibilities for cooperation with Serbia’s state owned oil company NIS in projects for refinery modernisation, development of research activities, and strategic partnership.
Representatives of Shell and Kellogg announced that they will send expert groups to Serbia in the next two weeks to meet with representatives of NIS and state power utility EPS and define ways for cooperation.
In a separate meeting, Naumov spoke to E.N. Christodoulou, chairman of the board of directors of Greek oil company Hellenic Petroleum, about the further development of market relations in Serbia’s oil sector and the Greek company’s plan to expand its retail network to Serbia.
Naumov also met with a delegation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to discuss progress in joint projects, identify potential areas of further cooperation in the energy field, progress in the restructuring of NIS, and the development of the pan-European oil pipeline.
The IFC delegation also initiated an expansion of cooperation in the field of energy efficiency, reads the statement.
