Speaking at this event, Matic supported the initiative for launching a Euro-Mediterranean centre for development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which aims to establish a successful partnership between the public and private sectors in these areas.
She voiced expectation that foreign companies will find an interest in investing in Serbia, taking into account the fact that our country has free trade agreements with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan and Turkey, and that it is a signatory of the CEFTA agreement.
The Third Economic and Financial Forum for the Mediterranean, which brings together more than 2,500 representatives of governments, public institutions, financial and private sector, was attended by Prime Minister of Italy Mario Monti and Secretary General of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Enzo Quattrociocche.
The topics discussed at the meeting were programmes and measures aimed at supporting SMEs, networks for electricity and renewable energy supply, infrastructure, media and new technologies, reads a statement by the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications.
