Ljajic and Brammertz stated that the cooperation between Serbia and the tribunal’s Prosecution in terms of delivering documentation, allowing access to state archives and witnesses and all other technical aspects under the Council’s jurisdiction has been at a very high level, with no unresolved issues.
During the meeting Ljajic and Brammertz discussed the investigation into human organ trafficking in Kosovo-Metohija.
Brammertz underlined that although the tribunal’s Prosecution has no jurisdiction to conduct an investigation in this case, it has nevertheless voiced its full support for a comprehensive and independent investigation to determine the full truth and punish those responsible.
He also noted that the Prosecution will provide the necessary assistance to EULEX’s investigating team, as it has done so far.
During the meeting they discussed the proceedings currently being conducted at the tribunal.
The National Council will continue to take all the necessary measures to make sure cooperation in all remits continues unhindered, reads the Council’s statement.
