Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic met in New York with former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that during the meeting they exchanged views on the current position of Serbia in Europe and its future.
Kissinger called for strengthening of relations between the United States and Serbia and expressed willingness to give his contribution.
The former US Secretary of State spoke inspiringly about Serbian history and heroism of the Serbs in the world wars, pointing out that the lack of understanding or knowledge leads to wrong decisions in some part of the international community, particularly with regard to Kosovo, the statement added.
