Borovcanin noted that by applying to the competition young people will gain the opportunity to attend a series of trainings to help them improve their business ideas and develop them into business plans which will be contemplated for loans in February 2013, within the Superstep credit line, provided by the Erste Bank and intended for youths launching their own business.
All interested young people can apply via www.biznismladihsrbije.org by 28 October 2012, he added.
He remarked that the competition is part of the Youth Business Serbia programme which enables young people to acquire the necessary know-how, skills and mentors’ support when launching their businesses, as well as to share their experiences with their peers from other states.
Borovcanin noted that the programme was initiated as a partner initiative of the Smart Kolektiv, Erste Bank and the National Employment Office, with the financial support of USAID and the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
Director of the USAID Economic Growth Office in Serbia Susan Kutor stressed that through the Sustainable Local Development Project, USAID will continue to endorse the cooperation of all three sectors – public, private and civil – in order to resolve key social problems, such as youth unemployment.
