Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Home Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic said today that the government will take a loan for the purchase of fertilizer which it will offer in exchange for maize.
Speaking before MPs in the Serbian parliament, Ljajic said that there are only 70,000 tons of maize in commodity reserves.
He explained that one of the measures of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management is the purchase of 200,000 tonnes of maize which costs €6.5 million, which is why it is necessary to take a loan in this amount.
