New Serbian government elected

The members of the Serbian parliament today held a public vote on the new government which will be headed by Ivica Dacic.
Prime Minister Ivica Dacic’s government will have 17 ministries and 19 members.
A total of 142 MPs voted in favour of the new government, 72 were against and 26 were absent.
Following the voting, the Prime Minister and government members took the oath of office saying:
“I swear to be loyal to the Republic of Serbia and by my honour I promise to respect the Constitution and the law, to perform my duties as a member of the government conscientiously, responsibly and with dedication and be committed to the preservation of Kosovo-Metohija within the Republic of Serbia.”
After the government members signed the text of the oath, the anthem of Serbia “God of Justice” was played, with which the parliament session ended.
Following the election of the government and the oath, the transfer of the duty of prime minister will be held and the first government session will ensue.
