The Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) announced today that the Serbian Export Market Development Assistance Scheme (SEMDAS) project was completed, which provided €1.14 million for Serbian export-oriented companies.
The project was implemented with the support of the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) through the export development program. It aims at supporting private entrepreneurship and creating conditions for export development in Serbia.
SEMDAS aims to promote the marketing of Serbian exports and will donate 50 percent of the project. Each project is to be funded with €5,000 to €50,000.
A total of 192 firms signed up for the donation, 98 of which meet all conditions requested by the EU. An average €23,400 will be spent for marketing activities to promote their exports.
SIEPA Director Jasna Matic said that SEMDAS was a very successful project evident of a successful model of assistance to local exporters, noting that such projects need to be supported in the future.
