This is the final number of voters for all units of the local self-government at all polling stations and the deadline for completing the list of voters expired at midnight.
The session of the RIK was attended by Minister for Human and Minority Rights, Public Administration and Local Self-Government Milan Markovic who informed RIK members of the final number of voters in Serbia.
There will be 18 lists of candidates who will compete for the mandates in the Serbian parliament, whose new composition will be the 9th since the introduction of a multi-party system and 12 candidates will compete for the position of the president of Serbia, who is elected for the 10th time.
Voters will cast their votes at 8,390 polling stations in the country and abroad.
The citizens of Serbia who live abroad will also be able to vote at 22 countries at 38 polling stations, and those living in the United States, Canada and Great Britain will be the first ones to cast their votes.
Apart from Serbia, on 6 May the voting will also take place in Austria, Belgium, Bosnia- Herzegovina, Italy, South African Republic, Cyprus, Libya, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Germany, Slovenia, France, the Netherlands, Croatia, Montenegro, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, from 7.00 to 20.00 local time.
The parliamentary and presidential elections will be held in the territory of Kosovo-Metohija in 90 polling stations, and the votes from Kosovo-Metohija will be counted in Raska and Vranje.
29 polling stations will be located in institutions for the enforcement of criminal sanctions.
The polling stations in Serbia will open on 6 May at 7.00 and close at 20.00.
During the pre-election silence, it is prohibited to use election propaganda through mass media, public meetings and publication of election results estimates.
Under the Instruction for the conduct of elections, it is prohibited to display the symbols of electoral lists and political parties, coalitions, citizens' groups, and other materials in the polling stations and 50 metres away from the stations.
The deadline for the RIK to publish the election results in the Official Gazette is 10 May at 20.00.
