The statement adds that the decision was made at the Council’s session, held today and tomorrow in Copenhagen, and specifies that during a thorough three-year evaluation period, the EA has assessed that the ATS is a competent and reliable partner.
The agreement will be signed by ATS Director Dejan Krnjaic on the 28th session of the EA General Assembly, to be held in May.
The document refers to the following accreditation areas: testing, calibration and medical laboratories, certification bodies and certification bodies for product certification.
The decision means that the accreditation system in Serbia is equivalent to that of other states signatories of bilateral/multilateral agreements with the EA, and that there is mutual trust and acceptance of reports and certificates issued by accreditation bodies in Serbia.
Confidence in the quality and safety of Serbian products and services will thus be secured, which is important for the Serbian economy and its competitiveness on foreign markets.
