Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic has called parliamentary elections for 6 May, when also parliamentary, provincial and local elections are to be held.

Djukanovic-Dejanovic signed the decision to call the presidential election for this date after having received a letter from Serbian President Boris Tadic, who informed her about his resignation.
Tadic thus terminated his mandate, and from now until the new president of Serbia takes office, the duty of the president, in accordance with the Serbian Constitution, will be carried out by Djukic-Dejanovic.
