The parliamentary elections will be carried out in line with the amended Law on the election of members of parliament which revoked blank resignation letters and introduced the rule according to which at least one third of candidates on the election list must be women.
Following the elections, mandates will be distributed to MPs as they were listed on the election list, starting from the first person on the list.

single electoral roll will be used as an electronic data base at these elections.

After the election, the Serbian Election Commission shall have three days to announce the final results, from which date the legal period of 30 days for constituting the parliament shall commence. The deadline for constituting a new national assembly is 9 June, while a new government must be formed by 8 September.
The previous parliamentary and local elections took place on 11 May 2008 and the parliament was constituted on 11 June.
