The Serbian parliament ratified today 27 international treaties and agreements, including those related to the guarantees for indebtedness of several national public enterprises, including EPS, Jat Airways and Galenika, totaling approximately €1.3 billion.
The deputies approved Serbia’s guarantees with four commercial banks, for the debt of the pharmaceutical company Galenika in the amount of €70 million, which will be used to refinance existing short-term liabilities of the company.
Serbia’s guarantee to Komercijalna Banka for a €10 million debt by joint stock company Jat Airways was also approved.
Parliament confirmed the agreement on granting the guarantee to UniCredit Bank for the debt made by Jat Tehnika in the amount of €5 million.
MPs also adopted the Law on guarantees for the payment of liabilities of the Building Directorate of Serbia, under a loan agreement for the construction of residential and commercial properties at the location of the "Stepa Stepanovic" barracks in Belgrade in the amount of €35 million to Hypo Alpe-Adria Bank Belgrade and Societe Generale Bank Serbia.
Parliament approved the Law on granting guarantees to the Japan International Cooperation Agency for the debt of electric power industry EPS.
Deputies also confirmed the guarantee agreement between Serbia and the European Investment Bank on construction works on the Sava bridge.
Parliament adopted the Law on ratification of the guarantee agreement between Serbia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for EPS small hydropower project.
The loan agreement for the project "Kostolac-B power plant projects" between the Serbian government as a borrower and the Chinese Export-Import Bank as a lender was also approved. The bank will approve credit assets whose aggregate amount may not exceed $293 million.
Deputies confirmed the loan agreement by the government of Azerbaijan to finance road sections Ljig-Boljkovci, Boljkovci-Takovo and Takovo-Preljina on E-763 motorway.
Parliament also confirmed the financial agreement between Serbia and the European Investment Bank for the needs of judicial authorities, the agreement between the governments of Serbia and the Russian Federation on cooperation in maritime transport, as well as the agreement between Serbia and the EU establishing a framework for the participation of Serbia in EU operations for crisis management.
MPs confirmed the agreement between Serbia and Slovakia on cooperation and mutual assistance in emergency situations, as well as between Serbia and Turkey on mutual protection of classified information and material exchanged in the framework of cooperation in the field of military industry.
The Serbian parliament thus ended an extraordinary session period.
