Bogdanovic said that at a meeting of the Serbian parliament’s Committee on Kosovo- Metohija at which the Report on the government’s activities on the stabilisation of the situation in Kosovo in the period from 1 November 2011 to 31 January 2012 was examined, it was concluded that the government’s approach to this issue is very constructive and that it does everything to resolve the situation on the ground and give peace a chance.
The Serbian government has coped well with the crisis in Kosovo, especially in the north of the province, the Minister noted and recalled that the government has always striven to find solutions that give peace a chance.
He warned that the situation in the province is still extremely complex and condemned the violence no matter on which side.
It is essential that the Serbian government cooperates with the international mission in the province because that is the best way to protect the interests of the Serbs in Kosovo, he noted.
Bogdanovic repeated the invitation to EULEX and KFOR to act in a status neutral way and that action contribute to stabilizing the situation on the ground.
Speaking of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, he said that the talks are conducted in accordance with the Constitution of Serbia, UN Resolution 1244, the six-point plan of the UN Secretary General, and the focus is on finding sustainable solutions for the population in Kosovo-Metohija.
