Head of the Serbian team for talks with Pristina Borislav Stefanovic today stressed that the crisis in Kosovo-Metohija was caused by the unilateral acts of irresponsible authorities in Pristina, whose goal was to try and change the situation in the field and establish statehood through illegitimate means.

Speaking in the Serbian Parliament, Stefanovic specified that one of the goals was to provoke Serbia to break off the talks.
Calling upon MPs to show unity in a time of possibly the greatest crisis in the province since its unilateral declaration of independence and to send a clear message to Serbs in the north of the province that they will continue with efforts until the crisis is overcome, he reiterated that Serbs will not remove road blocks until the situation at Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings returns to the original state.
Serbs do not want conflicts and violence, but they also do not wish to remove road blocks until the situation is back as it was before 25 July, he underlined, adding that Serbs at the barricades are now waiting to see what the MPs in Belgrade will decide.
He repeated his call for unity among MPs in order to resolve the crisis in the north of Kosovo-Metohija and protect Serbia’s state interests.
