At an urgent press conference, Tadic declared that the competent organs will disclose more details, adding that with Hadzic’s arrest Serbia concluded the most difficult chapter in its cooperation with the Hague tribunal.
The President commended the work of the National Security Council and the Security and Intelligence Agency and denied allegations by certain media that Hadzic was arrested between Krusedol monastery and military barracks.
Hadzic will be detained at the Belgrade Special Court.
With this arrest the years’ long search for the last remaining Hague indictee, accused of crimes against humanity and breaking the laws of warfare, has been concluded.
