Committee of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopted Draft resolution of Serbia

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions accepted today the Draft resolution made by Serbia which proposes the launching of an independent, international investigation in human organ trafficking in Kosovo-Metohija.
Four amendments were made to the draft resolution, of which two were accepted.
The amendment envisaging a joint investigation by EULEX and UNMIK on the trade in human organs in Kosovo-Metohija was accepted, and the second amendment accepted is of technical nature.
Two amendments were rejected that proposed that the investigation be carried only by EULEX, and that the request for the investigation to be carried out under the UN mandate be removed from Serbia’s draft resolution.
Expounding the draft resolution, head of the Serbian delegation in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Suzana Grubjesic underlined that all kidnappings of Serbs and Roma in Kosovo-Metohija in 1999 took place in the presence of KFOR, UNMIK and OSCE and that the investigation has never been made.
Serbia’s draft resolution has been submitted to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly which is expected to examine it at tomorrow’s plenary session.
