The twentieth annual meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which begins on 6 July in Belgrade and lasts until 10 July, will gather delegates from 55 countries of Europe, Central Asia and North America who will discuss the reforms of this largest regional security organisation.
This year's session is themed "Strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency of the OSCE – a new start after the summit in Astana."
The delegates will vote on more than 25 resolutions, including the resolution of the Serbian delegation requesting an international investigation of human organ trafficking in Kosovo-Metohija.
Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic invited Special Rapporteur of the Council of Europe Dick Marty, the author of the report on trafficking in human organs in Kosovo and Albania in 1999, to participate in the conference on "Fighting trafficking in human organs", on 9 July.
The assembly, during the five days, will be addressed by Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic, Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, Chairman of the OSCE and Foreign Minister of Lithuania Audryunosa Azubalis and Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE Petros Efthymiou.
