Serbian parliament’s Committee for Kosovo-Metohija urges Serbs not to participate in census

Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic said that the Serbian parliament’s Committee Kosovo-Metohija urged today the Serbs living in the southern Serbian province not to go to the upcoming census if it is not organised solely by the United Nations (UN) in the province’s entire territory.

Bogdanovic underlined at the session of the committee that the position of the Serbian government is clear and that only the UN have the mandate to conduct census in the province, not the interim Kosovo institutions.
It is unacceptable for the Serbian government that the UN conduct the census only in the north of Kosovo, and interim Kosovo institutions in the rest of the province, he stressed.
Recalling that 250,000 Serbs have been displaced from Kosovo-Metohija, the Minister asked how the Serbs can register their property in the places they were expelled from.
