Serbian President Boris Tadic today presented "Milos Obilic" courage medals to Serbian police officers, soldiers and citizens who performed noble and brave acts, on the occasion of Serbian Statehood Day.
Tadic stressed that selflessness and solidarity are values that must be cherished, and that individuals distinguished by these characteristics give an essential contribution to Serbia’s statehood.
We need to send a message to everyone in Serbia that selflessness, solidarity and personal courage are highly respected values, that all these values must be respected, and above all – the institution of Serbia, the President said.
The ceremony was also attended by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic.
