Markovic said in the parliament that the aim of the proposed amendments is to improve the position of employees with the lowest incomes, noting that the modified solutions are related to those officers who have incomes lower than the average.
The Minister pointed out that the correction of coefficients will include only employees with the lowest salaries, while other salaries in state organs will remain unchanged.
He explained that it is envisaged that civil servants with the lowest salaries get a raise between 17% and 41.51%. Thus, the lowest salary for those with elementary school will be approximately RSD 16,000, with secondary school RSD 22,000 and with post-secondary school RSD 30,000.
It will be necessary to set aside RSD 1.6 billion from the 2011 budget for implementation of the proposed solutions, Markovic specified.
