October records 3.1 percent industrial production growth year-on-year

The Serbian Statistics Office stated that industrial production in Serbia in October 2004 rose by 16.3 percent against the 2003 monthly average, while October 2004 output inched up by 6.3 percent in comparison with the same period last year.
Assistant Director of the Serbian Statistics Office Ema Jovanovic told a press conference that processing industry in October rose 20.2 percent against 2003 average.
Industrial production rose 6.4 percent since the beginning of the year when compared to the same period of 2003.
Ore and stone extraction grew 7 percent, while production and distribution of energy, gas and water was up 4.3 percent.
The production of intermediary goods, excluding energy, jumped 26.8 percent, whereas the production of durable consumer goods rose 22.8 percent and non-durable consumer goods 17.6 percent. Energy production recorded a 6 percent rise, while capital goods grew 10.8 percent.
Industrial production rose 6.4 percent since the beginning of the year when compared to the same period of 2003.
