On behalf of Serbia, who is presiding over PABSEC for the first half of the year, the session was addressed by Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic and head of the Serbian delegation in PABSEC Aleksandar Vlahovic. Also present at the reception were Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, Serbian MPs and others.
The working part of the three-day PABSEC general assembly will begin today and will be officially opened by Djukic-Dejanovic. The topic of this year’s assembly is the role of parliament in strengthening international law principles.
At the end of the three-day session, Serbia will officially hand over its presidency to Turkey, ie Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Mehmet Ali Sahin.
Countries participating in the session are Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
