Serbian Finance Minister Diana Dragutinovic called on members of parliament today to support the 2009 budget revision, according to which revenues stand at RSD 614.9 billion and expenditure at RSD 719.85 billion.
Speaking at the end of the debate on the bill on amendments to the 2009 budget law, Dragutinovic said that the budget revision bill envisages a deficit of RSD 104.87 billion, as a result of reduced revenues.
She explained that the increase in the budget deficit was also due to unplanned expenditures, such as the purchase of the H1N1 vaccines and the payment of debts. She stressed that the envisaged deficit is lower than the upper limit which was agreed upon with IMF.
An examination of revenues and expenditures shows that results in 2009 were still much better than in neighbouring countries, concluded Dragutinovic.
The parliament session was continued to examine the amendments which were proposed to the bills amending the accounting and auditing law and the law on the business registers agency.
