Dusko Lopandic
Lopandic told Tanjug news agency that Serbian government officials will meet with representatives of the EC to discuss quotas for Serbian sugar. He added that the meeting, to be held within two weeks’ time, will also touch on Serbia’s additional sugar import duties because, he explained, there is a rule that countries which enjoy a preferential status for exports to the European Union are not allowed to introduce protection customs duties on the same products.
According to him, the same applies to other agricultural products but sugar is of the greatest significance to Serbia, being its major export product.
