The European Parliament invited the EU Council of Ministers to state its definitive stance on the ratification of this agreement with Serbia, reads the resolution, voicing pleasure with the progress Serbia has made, especially in the unilateral implementation of the Transitional Trade Agreement.
Such a decision, especially in this time of crisis, shows Serbia’s readiness to move towards EU membership, therefore we hereby call upon the EU Council of Ministers to state its stance on the ratification of the agreement without delay, reads the resolution.
Serbia is also required to continue its cooperation with the Hague tribunal and the fact that Serbia has made additional efforts in cooperation with this court, which Chief Hague Prosecutor Serge Brammertz underlined in his report from June 4, was warmly welcomed in the resolution.
Visa liberalisation for the Western Balkan countries was seen by European MPs as a step in the right direction.
Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia have fulfilled the necessary conditions for visa liberalisation, which will enable their citizens to travel without visas from December 19, the resolution reads.
