Parliament discusses judiciary bills

Members of the Serbian parliament are discussing today a set of judiciary laws which should round off a normative framework for the beginning of work of a new judiciary network in January 2010.

The discussion includes amendments to the Law on organisation of courts, the Law on judges, the Law on public prosecutor’s office, the Law on organisation and jurisdiction of state organs in the procedure for war crimes, the Law on organisation and jurisdiction of state organs in the fight against high-technology crime, and a Bill on judiciary academy.
The agenda also includes the Bill on the maximum number of employees in the public administration and local self-government and amendments to the Law on traveling documents, by which the validity of the old passports is extended by one year.
As part of the United Nations week, a part of the session was attended by children from Pirot, Prokuplje, Kragujevac, Kraljevo and Becej, who take part in the programme “School Without Violence”.
