Serbian parliament adopts several laws and starts new session

Belgrade, Oct 26, 2009 –The Serbian parliament ended today the first session of the regular autumn sitting by adopting 17 items of the agenda, including a set of military laws and two strategies.
MPs adopted the laws on military obligation, civil service, the use of the Army of Serbia and other defence forces in multinational operations outside Serbian borders, on military-intelligence and military-security agency, and on medals, the diaspora and the Serbs in the region.
After voting, MPs started a new session by establishing the agenda, for which over 50 items were proposed, including the Bill on establishing the maximum number of employees in the public administration.
The new session will be dedicated to discussions on the bills on data security, changes to the Law on free access to information of public importance, changes to the Law on traveling documents, on the unique electoral poll, on gender equality and changes to the Law on peaceful resolution of labour disputes.
