The Serbian parliament today adopted the law on budget system, as well as amendments to the law on state administrative taxes and the Labour Law. It also agreed to guarantee the national road company Putevi Srbije’s debt to Marfin Bank.
The parliament today completed its 10th extraordinary session, which started on July 9.
The law on budget system will help improve the work of the Treasury Department and establish a system of responsibility when it comes to the consumption of public resources.
The amendments to the Labour Law will make it possible for employees to be on paid leave of absence for longer periods of time than allowed by existing laws in the case of a temporary halt in work or a drop in the volume of work. The amendments to the law on state administrative taxes will reduce certain taxes by 50%.
The bill on the issuance of guarantees by the state to Marfin Bank for a €60 million loan to the public road company Putevi Srbije will refinance the financial obligations of the company.
The Serbian Parliament began its new special session, to examine more than 20 bills, at 3pm.
