Speaking in parliament at the debate on the bill on amendments to the Law on foreign affairs Jeremic said that Kosovo is one of the government’s priorities, stressing that the diplomatic struggle for safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty will continue as intensively as before.
The Minister said that defending the constitutional order through diplomatic means is not an easy task, particularly when extreme pressure is being exerted on countries which have not recognized Kosovo to do so.
Speaking about the bill, according to which the Foreign Minister would have the right to employ up to 5% of his total work force without internal or public job advertising, Jeremic explained that this is practiced in other countries.
Jeremic said that the Foreign Ministry has reduced the number of its employees by 200.
He said that until now the Ministry has not had its special security services defined in law and noted that the amendments to this law refer to the physical protection of Serbian embassies and residences abroad.
