European Council confirms Serbia’s progress

At its session today the European Council Parliamentary Assembly adopted a resolution confirming Serbia’s progress concerning the fulfilment of its obligations towards this institution and supporting Serbia’s EU integration.
At today’s session MPs argued for Serbia’s inclusion on the Schengen ‘white list’, says the statement, adding that the adopted resolution provides additional guidelines for meeting the remaining preconditions.
The Serbian government was called upon to complete cooperation with the Hague tribunal as soon as possible and a majority of MPs supported Serbia’s efforts to fight for Kosovo-Metohija through diplomatic means.
A sub-amendment submitted by a member of the Serbian delegation, Milos Aligrudic, specifying that Serbia will cooperate with Kosovo institutions only in accordance with Resolution 1244, was adopted today.
