Cvetkovic said that there will be more discussion on this document.
Minister for National Investment Plan Verica Kalanovic said that the proposed bill on Vojvodina’s jurisdictions fully respects the proposal from the Vojvodina Executive Council.
Kalanovic pointed to the importance of balanced national development, noting that the government is working actively in this field.
The government is working on the implementation of the programme for supporting underdeveloped municipalities through several measures and plans, said the Minister, adding that this concerns infrastructure development and encouragement of entrepreneurship.
Kalanovic said that regionalization is a theme which is talked about a lot in Serbia but little is in fact known about it, recalling that during the previous period Serbia was centralized to a large degree.
Minister of Justice Snezana Malovic said that the government is firmly in favour of the decentralization of authority, adding that the adoption of the Vojvodina Statute is envisaged by the Constitution, while the introduction of the document into law requires a law on the transfer of jurisdiction.
President of the National Council for Cooperation with the ICTY Rasim Ljajic spoke about Serbia’s cooperation with the tribunal, recalling that the Netherlands insist on the handing over of Ratko Mladic and pressure on Serbia will continue until that is done.
Serbia is very close to concluding cooperation and becoming free of further pressure concerning this issue, he said, stressing that he does not believe that there is any group which is preventing the arrest of the remaining Hague indictees.
He said that it has been conveyed to Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz that some of the sentences handed out by the tribunal are not objective, adding that this however will not affect Serbia’s cooperation with the tribunal.
The session was also attended by Minister of Education Zarko Obradovic and Minister for Human and Minority Rights Svetozar Ciplic.
