The Serbian parliament’s European Integration Committee adopted today in principle the Bill on confirming the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) and the Bill on confirming the Transitional trade agreement between Serbia and the EU.
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic said that the SAA is first and foremost focused on the economy and it enables Serbia to have access to the largest world market.
Djelic said that the SAA is a strong signal to the domestic and foreign investors and an agreement that protects Serbian trade marks for the first time.
Speaking about the position of Kosovo-Metohija concerning the confirmation of this agreement, the Serbian Deputy Prime Minister said that Article 135 speaks clearly about Kosovo-Metohija in the light of UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
The European Integration Committee will hold a session on amendments to the two above-mentioned bills tomorrow at 2.30 pm.
