The press service of the president of the Republic of Serbia stated that President Boris Tadic will travel to New York today, where he will participate in a UN Security Council session dedicated to Kosovo-Metohija tomorrow.
Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic will also be in the delegation of the Serbian president.
The UN Security Council session will be open to the public and will be held on Friday morning local time.
The session will look at a report in which UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon proposes adjusting the structure and profile of UNMIK in a way that will enable greater participation of the EU in the field of law, under the umbrella of the UN.
The UN Secretary-General announced, along with UNMIK’s reconfiguration, that he will appoint a new UN special representative in Kosovo, so that could also be the topic of this meeting.
This month, the US is presiding over the UN Security Council and is in charge of its programme.
