They agreed at the meeting that Serbia and Russia adhere to a joint and principled policy which implies respect for international law and the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity of internationally recognised states.
Kostunica stressed at the meeting that Serbia annulled the illegal decision on the unilateral proclamation of independence by Kosovo and emphasised that according to the Serbian constitution, Kosovo-Metohija is an integral and inalienable part of Serbia.
Torshin stressed that Russia’s stance is that the unilateral proclamation of independence by Kosovo-Metohija is a gross violation of international law.
He said that economic cooperation between Russia and Serbia is of great importance, and stressed that it is necessary to implement the energy agreement signed between the two countries.
The Serbian Prime Minister said the agreement will be implemented and emphasised that it is in Serbia’s interest.
Kostunica expressed gratitude to Russia for humanitarian aid for Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.
