Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today, together with Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović, with deans of technical and technological faculties to discuss enrolment policy, study conditions and plans for the development of higher education institutions in the fields of mining, metallurgy and energy, as well as the education of personnel in these areas.

Macut stressed that the goal of the series of talks is to improve the state of higher education and, in partnership with universities and faculties, find solutions that will help make higher education a system of the future.
Đedović Handanović said that consideration should be given to broader engineering education during the first three years of studies, after which students would opt for specialisation, as well as to redefining study programmes in line with the state’s needs and plans.
