Ties between Serbia, Russia historic

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with Director of the Russian Centre for International Scientific and Cultural Cooperation Eleonora Mitrofanova.

Kostunica stressed that ties between Serbia and Russia and their peoples are historic and that the two countries dedicate great attention to political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation.
He noted that cultural and scientific cooperation has a long tradition and is also especially connected to the work of the Russian Centre in Belgrade, which is marking its 75th anniversary this year.
He stressed that it is very important to expand cooperation between the two countries in the areas of culture, science, education and the media.
Eleonora Mitrofanova said that the 75th anniversary of the Russian Centre in Belgrade reflects the strong links between the Serbian and Russian people, and added that it is very important to expand cultural cooperation.
She stressed that the Russian House is preparing several events which will be held throughout Serbia, and will strengthen cultural cooperation between the two countries.
