Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica last night congratulated Dmitry Medvedev on winning the presidential election in Russia.
Honourable Mr. Medvedev, I most sincerely congratulate you on your victory in the presidential election in Russia. At the democratic election, the Russian people gave its vote and full support to the clear and principled policy based on Russia’s overall progress.
Your victory will enable the continuation of Russia’s impressive economic development and further revival of the country. With its consistent and principled policy Russia has become the guardian of the founding principles of international law, which peace and stability in the world are based on. In congratulating you on your electoral victory, I would like to wish you great success in carrying out your duties as President of Russia, reads the Prime Minister’s letter.
