Final results of Serbian presidential election released

The Serbian Electoral Commission released last night the final results of the Serbian presidential election, which confirmed that Democratic Party candidate Boris Tadic was elected as President of Serbia.
In the runoff, Tadic won 50.31% or 2,304,467 votes, whereas Serbian Radical Party candidate Tomislav Nikolic won 47.97 % or 2,197,155 votes.
The Electoral Commission established the final results of the election after repeat voting at polling station number 12, in Dobro Polje in the Boljevac municipality, held on February 12.
The number of registered voters for the runoff was 6,723,762, of whom 4,580,428 voted. The total number of valid ballot papers was 4,501,622.
The Serbian presidential elections were held at 8,508 polling stations across Serbia and 65 abroad. The final results and report of the Electoral Commission will be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia.
