Jevremovic requested in a letter addressed to the chairman of the UN Security Council that this body considers the extremely dangerous situation in the Serbian province of Kosovo-Metohija, where we are witnessing final preparations for a unilateral proclamation of independence by the province’s interim authorities.
He stressed that a declaration of independence would mean a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 which established the UN administration in Kosovo and allowed the arrival of NATO troops, but also guaranteed Serbia’s territorial integrity.
