Serbian nationals residing in the UK, Canada, Portugal and the United States are voting today. There are 37,171 citizens living abroad who are eligible to cast their ballots at 65 polling stations in 36 countries.
The pre-electoral silence, that is in force until 8 pm tomorrow prohibits the direct or concealed advertising of presidential candidates, their platforms and all of political organisations, as well as the fly-posting of promotional material within a 50 metre radius from election stations.
A total of 6,723,762 citizens will have the right to vote at 8,481 polling stations in the presidential run-off. An additional 1.4% ballots will be printed as backup.
The results will be determined on February 7 at 8 pm at the latest and the final results will be published in the Official Gazette.
The president is elected to office for a period of five years and the mandate begins on the day he swears oath before Serbian parliament.
