Slovenian Foreign Minster Dimitrij Rupel said today that the EU has decided to offer Serbia a political agreement with the EU on free trade, visa liberalisation and other questions, on February 7 in Brussels.
Following a meeting with the EU Council of Ministers, Rupel said that this is a concrete offer and that the EU has a unified stance on this question. He added that it is extremely important to send out a positive signal at this moment.
Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis said that the EU unanimously decided today to offer Serbia a political agreement which has economic and political aspects, and it will show that the EU wishes to have Serbia as a member.
Now it is up to the people of Serbia to make a decision, said Bakoyannis. She added that this agreement is broad, important and clear, and the Stabilisation and Association Agreement will follow.
