At today’s voting in the Council of Europe (CoE) Parliamentary Assembly on the Resolution on Kosovo-Metohija, two crucial amendments made by Serbia were accepted.
Head of the Serbian parliament’s delegation in CoE Parliamentary Assembly Milos Aligrudic told news agency Tanjug that the Serbian delegation voted against the resolution but that it is satisfied with changes rejecting an imposed solution to the status of the province and suggesting a continuation of negotiations.
We did not support either the resolution or the recommendations as the resolution was not completely changed while the changes to the recommendations we wanted were adopted, Aligrudic explained.
The resolution was supported by 98 votes, 48 were against while 24 abstained from voting.
The recommendation of an imposed solution to the status of the Serbian province was deleted from the text of the resolution and a recommendation to continue negotiations between the two sides based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 was adopted.
