The resolution was adopted with 220 MPs voting in favour and 14 against, while three abstained.
Following the debate on the proposal resolution, Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said that Serbia may enter all international agreements in its entirety, not mutilated, but whole.
Kostunica particularly drew attention to the part of the resolution, in article 7, which states that parliament recommends to the Serbian government that international agreements and the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU must serve to safeguard Serbia’s sovereignty.
The Serbian Prime Minister pointed to the responsibility of all participants in the debate, saying that it is necessary to hear different opinions to make sure that a unified stand is reached.
I have given clear guarantees for all MPs and citizens when it comes to the constitutional decree that Kosovo-Metohija is an integral part of Serbia, stressed Kostunica and called upon the MPs to vote for the proposal resolution since today Serbia is in need of national unity to defend Kosovo-Metohija.
