Presenting the draft law on asylum in parliament, Jocic said that under this bill envisages formation of three bodies - the Office for asylum, Commission for asylum and Centre for asylum.
He explained that the Office for asylum will be in charge of making first-instance decisions whereas the Commission for asylum will be in charge of passing second-instance decisions.
According to Jocic, asylum seekers will be provided with board and lodging in the Centre for asylum, noting that 652 asylum claims have been submitted so far.
The implementation of this law should start on April 1, 2008, Jocic said and noted that with the adoption of this regulation, Serbian legal system will be fully harmonised with international conventions and EU directives.
