Cubrilo informs French businesspeople on role of Serbian diaspora

Serbian Minister of Diaspora Milica Cubrilo met today French businesspeople in Paris, at the seminar “Why be interested in Serbia now?”, and talked about the role of the Serbian diaspora in economic relations between the two countries.
In a statement to the news agency Beta, Cubrilo said that she pointed out the importance of bringing French exporters and investors closer to businesspeople of Serbian origin to get informed on the commercial and industrial opportunities in Serbia.
She said that at the seminar, organised by the French agency for international enterprise development (UBIFRANCE), there was a large number of businesspeople, and some of them are already investing in Serbia. The Serbian presentation was geared to motivate them further.
According to Cubrilo, the aim of the visit to France is to systematise and organise cooperation and investment, to identify leading people and to invite them to come to Serbia.
During the visit to Paris, agreement was reached with French officials that the problem of opening a French secondary school will be resolved by the end of the next year, said Cubrilo. Today, Cubrilo will travel to the US where she will be accompanied by Ministry Secretary Bojan Djuric. The visit will last until October 30 and regards establishment of cooperation between the US, Serbian diaspora and Serbia.
The delegation will meet with Governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevic in Chicago and representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and diaspora.
Together with Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, the Minister of Diaspora will attend the annual meeting of the Serbian Unity Congress, to be held in San Francisco from October 25 to 29.
