Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met with Head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia Andreas von Beckerath today to discuss cooperation in the field of defence, regional security and further advancing partnership relations.

Gašić emphasised that Serbia is determined to continue to contribute to strengthening its own, regional and global security, in cooperation with other countries and international organisations.
He emphasised that this strategic commitment is realised through participation in missions and operations under the auspices of the European Union, thereby contributing to the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy.
The Minister stated that Serbia has raised the level of alignment with the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union, which is now the highest since 2014.
Ambassador von Beckerath assessed that the high level of alignment represents a good basis for further advancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
